Stitching In Colour
Stitching In Colour is a creative and therapeutic group run by Pola Psychology with the purpose of connecting like-minded folk with the restorative and rhythmic practice of stitching.
Used across cultures to mend, beautify, process, protect, protest, grieve, connect and indicate place and identity, stitching in its simple and intricate form has given voice to historical personal and collective events. We invite you to create in this space together.
Facilitator, Avrille Burrows (Mental Health Clinician and Arts Therapist) engages in her own artistic practice alongside her clinical work and uses the act of stitching as a regulating and therapeutic outlet and means to express.

This gathering will be held on the land of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation, a land whose sovereignty remains un-ceded. We pay our respects to their Elders past and present and acknowledge that our work in Naarm (Melbourne) takes place on Aboriginal land.
Pola Practice recognises that we are settlers in Australia and we are only able to do this work because of the work of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island elders, activists, and thinkers.
It is important to acknowledge that therapeutic art making and creativity is not a new found concept, it has been foundational across cultures since the beginning of time.
Cancellation: If you are unable to make it, or need to cancel your attendance for the group please let us know at your earliest convenience so we are able to offer the spot to someone else. Cancellations with less than 48hrs notice will still be charged $40.
